JANUARY

Religious Event:

The Three Kings parade (5th January 2020) – The most favorite children’s festivity celebrated all over Spain. The three kings travel through the town throwing sweets for the children followed by huge happy crowds. Join in Marbella or San Pedro Alcántara town centers.

FEBRUARY

Religious Event:

The Carnival of Cadiz (28th February to 10th March) – The most unique of Spains’ carnivals, full of music and satirical humor competitions. Celebrated since the 16th century, throughout the years have assimilated some Italian elements such as wearing masks and “confettis”.

MARCH

Movies:

The Málaga Film Festival (15th to 24th March) – Promotes Spanish and the whole Ibero-American territory produced films. They screen the best movies in Spanish produced in the past year including documentaries and short movies.

APRIL

Religious Event:

Easter in Málaga (14th to 24th April) – Holy week is the most important Catholic celebration in Spain with the most spectacular events taking place in Andalucía, with extravagant processions depicting biblical scenes. Málaga holds over 40 processions throughout the week, all passing the main avenue Alameda.

Sport

Ironman 70.3 Marbella (28th April) – This year Marbella will witness for the second time the amazing performances of the participants of this qualification triathlon race. Series of qualification races held throughout the world will culminate in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship organized by the World Triathlon Corporation in Nice, France.

Champagne Party (5th May) – The legendary Ocean Club event, a beachside open air club in the heart of Puerto Banus boasting one of the largest swimming pools of its kind in Europe. Over 3.000 lovers of luxury, hedonism and excess will be spraying over 6.000 bottles of champagne.

JUNE

The night of San Juan (23th of June) – A magical night of rituals and traditions where fire and water play the most important role, as symbols of luck and change. Hundreds of bonfires are lit along the beaches of the Costa del Sol and people enjoy the rituals of jumping over the fire and wetting their feet in the sea.

Social/ Religious Event:

The Marbella Fair (9th to 15th June) – An exciting event for all ages, celebrating the saint patron of Marbella ¨San Bernabé¨. The marvelously decorated town is taken over by fireworks, parades, street concerts, flamenco shows etc…Temporary market stalls throughout the day and night offer the most delicious of Marbella’s typical gastronomy.

JULY

Religious Event:

The Virgin of Carmen (16th July) or so called “The queen of the Seas” – The protector of fishermen is honored every year in fishing villages and towns along the southern coast of Spain. The Virgin, decorated with flowers is loaded onto a flower bedecked boat for a trip around the bay, accompanied by hundreds of smaller boats.

JULY – AUGUST

Music:

Starlite (12th July – 24th August) – A unique music festival concept taking place in the old quarry of Nagueles, in the mountain behind Marbella town. This natural outdoor space with extraordinary acoustics and capacity for only 3.000 seats, allows for close proximity to the artists and leaves its guests with an unforgettable experience. The 8th edition will bring artists such as The Beach Boys, Il Divo, Maluma, Diana Krall, David Bisbal and many others. Besides the music; Starlite has super trendy areas for gastronomy and shopping.

Sport:

48th edition of International Polo Tournament (24th July to 31th August) – Organized by Santa María Polo Club in Sotogrande, one of the best polo venues in the world! One of the most important sports and social events gathering thousands of visitors every year and boasts a great variety of services and entertainment such as: gastronomic and shopping villages, children’s zone, night parties and concerts.

AUGUST

Social/ Religious Event:

Feria Malaga (10th to 19th August) – Is the most important Andalusian fair that celebrates the memory of the arrival of the Catholic Kings to Malaga city, August 1487. No invitation is needed, everyone is welcome to join in this cosmopolitan party and have fun.

SEPTEMBER

Social:

Marbella Luxury weekend (September) – A unique weekend in Puerto Banus, celebrating the luxury lifestyle with presentations of the most luxurious products Marbella has to offer. Various days of golf, VIP parties, fashion shows culminating with a charity gala dinner.

OCTOBER

Sport:

Marbella 4 days walking (17th to 20th October) – The biggest international walking event in Spain for all ages. There are various routes of different lengths, offering exceptional sceneries of Marbella town and its surroundings: the nature, the old town and or the beach.

Plaza del Mar is the starting point for all the routes and turns into a life music and dancing spot every evening during the event.

NOVEMBER

Movies

The Festival of Sevilla (8th to 16th of November) – Brings the best of contemporary European cinema, non-fiction cinema and independent Spanish cinema, already on its 16th edition.

DECEMBER

Social

Turning on of Malaga’s Christmas lights (End of November) – Already a reference throughout Spain, a long awaited event attracting considerable crowds. During the whole festive period Málaga is illuminated with over 2 million LED lights and there are 3 music light shows a day scheduled on the famous Calle Larios.
