Luxury beachside communities on The Golden Mile of Marbella

The most privileged and exclusive beachside residential address in Marbella is “The Golden Mile”. A stretch of land originally only a mile long (giving its name) from Puerto Banus to Marbella town. Through the years, the area has spanned out somewhat, now 2.8miles long (4.5kms). With the rivers as boundaries and a stunning beachfront promenade, that is enjoyed year round by both tourists and locals. Marbellas most famous luxury hotels are also set on this stretch of land.

Property in this area is highly sought after, with a wide variety of property types to choose from. From gated apartment communities, to luxury villas also within gated complexes. Gated communities are an additional sough after feature for luxury properties. Crime in Marbella is low compared to other cities, however having one main entrance with security guards 24/7 and security cameras, is an additional feature that attracts high profile clients who search for very private and high security residences.

Beachside is a unique and privileged position. Typically, flat plots due to the landscape, this area is home to frontline beach properties, going back to 4th and 5th line in some areas. Many of these properties have wonderful sea views. The further back from the seashore the less of a sea view, and in contrast they boast wonderful tropical gardens, and many have created very private oasis’s.

Some of the most popular luxury communities (starting just after the river) next to Puerto Banus, towards Marbella are:

Oasis de Banus

A select community of only 21 owners. Extremely large apartments and duplex properties, all with stunning sea views and direct access to the beach. The complex offers three complete spa areas as well as communal swimming pool and gymnasium.

Playa Esmeralda

An elegant frontline beach marble “U” shaped gated community, with access to the beach and promenade. The complex boasts stunning tropical gardens, an original shaped swimming pool with central island. Independent circular children’s swimming pool. Gymnasium and outdoor ping-pong table.

Port Oasis

An iconic building, built in the 70’s in the shape of a pyramid, with sweeping arches and Arab influence. This bijoux building is a small private residential community with a south facing swimming pool overlooking the sea.

El Ancon

A frontline beach community of 13 luxury villas all with independent swimming pools, many refurbished throughout the years. Built in 3 rows, frontline, second line and third line. The majority of plots are around 800m2. Located just next before the Puente Romano luxury 5* Hotel.

Puente Romano

A collection of apartment communities, named after Geographical areas and blocks named after types of birds. A highly sought after residential community. Alongside the Hotel Puente Romano, within walking distance of the hotel, its famous tennis club and direct access to the beach. Impeccably maintained lush tropical gardens and streets. From 2 bedroom original apartments, to large and modern penthouses and duplex properties. There are a few private villas also set in the grounds, on both sides of a road, front line and second line to the sea which rarely come on the market for sale however some are available for rent.

Los Verdiales

Located just after the Hotel, on a quiet street, unknown to many. This tranquil cul-du-sac road has 24hrs security with guard and gate. With less than 15 high end luxury independent villas, all with private swimming pools, some with additional features such as heated pools, spas, and cinema rooms. Pedestrian access to the beachfront.

Las Torres de Marbella Club

This gated community also with security and guard at the entrance, is a private cul-du-sac road leading down to the beach. With independent luxury villas on either side, the larger properties on bigger plots are closest to the beach. Top quality properties similar to its adjacent community Los Verdiales.

Santa Petronila

Located just next to the Marbella Club Hotel, one of Marbellas best addresses. This community is also gated and offers a traditional distribution of villas. Many modernized through the years, some on extraordinarily large plots of land. Unique homes with fantastic features.

Casablanca

This is one of the most established communities in the area, walking distance to Marbella town center. The community is gated and has 2 entrances and exits, both with security barriers. Here you can find a mix of original villas with gardens and pools. Many new builds or refurbished villas in modern and contemporary styles. Properties are independently owned and in high demand for rent in the summer months due to their walking proximity to all services and amenities.

Alhambra del Mar

A gated established community of apartments and penthouses, in a very Andalusian style with Arab influence. Exuberant tropical gardens, with streams and water features as well as swimming pools. This complex opens right on the beach and promenade. Located between Casablanca and the Melia Don Pepe Hotel, this community is highly sought after.
