Just before spring begins the town completely dedicates itself to the Easter Week preparations, we can already begin to enjoy longer days, enabling us to enjoy a large variety of activities for people of all ages.
We are pleased to share with you some options to be able to enjoy Spring in Marbella, specifically speaking about areas between Marbella and Estepona, a short distance of just over 30kms of land connecting both towns by the national road N-340, a short drive along the coast road that offers everything you may need.
Life beside the beach offers an abundance of outdoor activities. Estepona Port for example offers a large number of restaurants where Seafood is the main cuisine along with traditional Andalusian recipes.
Searching for nearby alternatives, you must visit the mountain village of Benahavis, located only 10 minutes’ away by car on the A7175, we find a true “Gastrovillage” where a unique mix of International residents meets with the charm of a typical Andalusian pueblo and enjoy a large selection of gastro quality cuisine that this charming area is popular known. In the last years Benahavis has changed and improved tremendously making it one of the most favourite locations in the area.
Another option surrounded by nature and with spectacular views of the coastline from the Mediterranean sea is to board a catamaran from Puerto Banus or Marbella Port and take the trip in either or both directions, here you can see the Costa del Sol from another perspective, the famous Golden Mile.
Another delight to enjoy during the Spring is Marbellas Old Town, a perfect setting for a tranquil walk through the narrow streets and beautiful town squares followed by the scent of orange blossom typical at this time of year, visit the churches, hidden chapels and small local artisan shops where you can find that perfect souvenir whilst also enjoying dinner on one of the many typical terraced restaurants.
A highly recommended activity to enjoy when the weather begins to improve is to drive a few kilometres into the mountains, close to Marbella (less than a 15 minutes’ drive) where you can visit various small white washed Andalusian villages including: Ojen, Istan, Casares, Gaucin amongst others. These are small jewels that must be seen where people enjoy a slower pace of life. One of the activities that we recommend to try out when in Marbella and taking advantage of our wonderful surroundings is hiking.
